Five on Friday

Yep.  It's Friday.  And honestly, it could not have come soon enough!  It's been nutso around here being a single parent this week.  The hubs left on Tuesday morning for a work trip and won't be back until late tonight...so needless to say I am ready for him to be back!  I give mad props to all you single parents out there for doing what you do every single day...it's not for the weak!

Anyway, that said, I am oh so excited about it being Friday for many reasons, but one of my faves is because I get to link up with Darci and a few other awesome gals for their weekly "Five on Friday."

Here's what I'm loving this week...

{One.}
Found the little gem on the left when I was sorting through all of my stuff yesterday from my parents, so I wanted to do a little side by side comparison...people always tell me Madden looks like his Daddy, but what do you guys think???  Any resemblance?  You won't hurt my feelings if you say no; I just had to ask!  Side note, was I not the hottest little 3 year old you ever did see?  I mean, look at that little gut hanging out of my shirt...I knew how to rock that midriff back in the day!

{Two.}
Ok, so this might be a little random, but when searching for ideas for Madden's birthday party, this little number popped up.  How adorable are these confetti glitter dipped balloons??  I am trying everything in my power to make these work for some kind of party in the future. I will make them mine...I just don't think they scream 3 year old boy, do you?? ;)

{Three.}
I am IN LOVE with this necklace!  This is beyond adorable and has so much meaning behind it, I need to get my hands on one!  Obviously we would only have one little leaf hanging from the branch, but hopefully, someday soon, we can add another little leaf!  You can find this little number here.

{Four.}
mmmmmmm....love these bad boys a tad too much!  I made these as a treat for Madden to take to his teachers this past week as a thank you for all they are doing for him already.  They are called "Scarecrow Treats" and they are SUPER yummy!!  And did I mention that they are easy peasy to whip up?  They are just a yellow cake crust, marshmallow middle and a peanut and peanut butter top with some candy corn mixed in to make them more fall appropriate.  They were a huge hit with both of his teachers, so I think I earned a few brownie points for myself Madden by doing that...You can find that recipe here.

{Five.}
Is this front porch not just absolutely amazing??  I decorated the inside of my house last week for fall, and I love every ounce of it...I just haven't bit the bullet on the outside yet because it's still been over 100 degrees in these parts.  That is until this weekend!  That said, I'm going to use this picture for inspiration.  See those giant Mums??  They have the exact same ones at Costco right now for $15!  You seriously can't beat that price.  I'm heading there this afternoon to stock up on a few...you can never have too many Fall Mums ;)

Well, my dears...that does it for me and my weekly Friday faves post!  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Until next time...

  5. I want that front porch. I think your son looks like you, he is too cute. I have a similar necklace and I love it. It is a momma bird with my boys birthstones hanging off it.

  9. Hi, I'm stopping by from the link-up and just fell in love with so many of the things on your "Five on Friday". I love those glittered balloons, I don't have anything that I could currently use them for but I love them so much now!! And it just kept getting better as I read! I am such a Fall person all of a sudden so those yummy treats and that front porch are totally up my ally right now! And that necklace is just darling :)

  10. Hiya! Am saying hi from the link-up! Your little boy is adorable! And I'm going to say he looks like you. ;) I have to pull out baby pictures of myself to prove any resemblance to our almost 3 year old.

    Those Scarecrow Treats look fantastic. My mouth is watering just staring at the photo. I'm guessing our little man's teachers would appreciate a batch as well. I just may have to do that, but not before I test a few. ;)
