Well Hello There...

I'm baaaaack!!!  Did ya miss me???  Probably not, and I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of nice just being shut down for a few days.  I did miss y'all though...it's crazy the amount of friendships I have developed on here, so being away from blogging made it feel as though I was disconnected from my friends.  And that part I didn't like so much!  But I'm back now and I'm here all week!  Yippee!

Now y'all are probably expecting me to do a long-ass boring post on what we all did on our little getaway, but surprise, surprise!  I'm not...(yet, anyway!)  Say whaaaaaat??!!  I'm sure you are just as shocked as I was about not hearing a vacay recap today.  But I have a more pressing topic I wanted to throw out there to y'all.  Ok, so it's not some super serious topic of discussion, but I do have some questions for you.  HELP!!!!

So, remember how I told you that my sister's bachelorette party is Labor Day weekend?  Well guess what?  Did y'all know that THIS weekend is Labor Day weekend??!!  Shoot!  It is super early this year, and in typical Jenna fashion, I waited until the last minute to throw things together for her party!  Let's just say with school starting for the little guy and a week long vacation thrown in the mix, I got a little side-tracked...I seriously had it in my head that next weekend was Labor Day so I figured I had plenty of time.  Welp, I was wrong.  The party is this Saturday.  And while I do have a lot planned, there are still some items that I need help with!  This is where you guys come in...

Now, the layout of the night goes a little something like this:

7:00 p.m.: 28 (early 20's) girls are arriving at my house, where we will start the night with food, drinks, presents for my sister and games.

10:00 p.m.: A 30 person party bus is picking us up at my front door and driving us downtown (which is about 30 minutes from our house) and dropping us off at a popular bar down there.  (I literally had to ask my college aged cousin the hot-spots downtown because I'm such an old lady and am in bed by 9:30 on Friday and Saturday nights!)  Where we will proceed to drink, dance, sell suckers for a buck to desperate single guys to raise a little moolah for the bride.

11:30 p.m.:  There may, or may not be a little surprise stop to Omaha's version of "The Thunder From Down Under" planned for my sister's last night of "freedom!"  I mean, why not, right?? Haha!

1:30 a.m.:  The bus is picking us back up and bringing us home.  Lord help me...I have a feeling it's going to be a shit show.

We also have about 18 of those girls staying at my house since most of them are coming from out of town...so it is going to be one big "slumber party" if you will!

Soooooo, now that you have the down low on the itinerary for the night, this where y'all come in.  I need your help with a couple things:

  • What games should we play before we hit the town...What did you play at your own bachelorette, or at friends' parties?  I'm really struggling with ideas for this, so I would really appreciate it if you could throw some ideas my way!!  (I've been striking out on Pinterest for this one!)
  • What is your favorite flavor jello shot recipe?  I want to do something different, and I've got to make about 100+ of them, so I need some variety!
  • What is your go-to for snack food at a party where you know you will be drinking most of the night?  I need ideas for some foods with "substance" if you know what I mean...items that will "soak up" a night full of drinking so girls aren't falling over before we even leave the house!
Ok...I think that's it.  I apologize if this wasn't what you were expecting when you came here today...I just needed help with those few things and who better to ask than y'all??  I appreciate any and every little bit of help you can give me!!  I just want to make this night memorable for one of my favorite girls...

Until next time...

    1. Well thank you dear!! I do really like my hair straight, too, but in this Nebraska summer humidity, it doesn't stay like that for long, so I always end up going the curls/wavy route...so much easier to maintain!

And don't you worry about pictures from the party...I have a feeling my instagram will be blowing up with party pics that night!! :D

  2. For games you could do ex charades, toilet paper weddi ng dress and my fave, guess the panties. Guess the panties is where everyone brings panties, hang them up, and everybody guesses who's panties are who's!

  3. First of all, I got my striped skirt and LOVE IT. Thanks for the closet sale! As far as games, I love the panty poem (white for wedding, red for valentine's, blue/pink for baby, black for first fight, and end with granny panties you can google panty poem and it'll pop up... I also sell mad libs on my etsy website, but they're easy to make... you could create a fun one about your sis's wedding night and have guests fill in the words and read the funny ones... As far as food, you can't ever go wrong with some sort of chip/dip and veggie tray! Then it's always fun at big nights out to come home to a pizza delivery! I had a friend do this after a bachelorette and it was SO GREAT to come back to the hotel to fresh pizzas that had already been delivered!

Jell-O shots--get ready, I'm about to give away my all-time secret... I make vodka jello-shots and instead of water, add in simply limeade and lemonade to cherry/strawberry/berry/blue, etc. before you cool them and they are so good! And so easy!

    Have a GREAT time! :)

  4. I love bahama mama jello shots. Use the orange, pineapple, strawberry jello and Malibu! So yummy!! Also how about bacon wrapped little smokies (with brown sugar). These are a huge hit and so yummy. You can even make them up the day before and cook right before the ladies arrive!

  5. We played a fun game at my bachelorette where my maid of honour (sister) asked my fiance a bunch of questions and got his answers...then she read the questions to everyone and they had to guess what the answers were (the person who got each one right got to make someone take a shot or something like that)...it was mostly multiple choice like:
    1) when Heather and Brian are driving, what do they argue about the most? a) the radio b) the speed of the car c) directions for where they are going

You can make it as low key or risque as you like!!!

  6. I love the purse game at bachelorette parties! You make a list of 20 some items that you keep to yourself and then go through them and anyone that can pull that item from their purse gets a point. Most points wins a prize.
Things like a condom, a snack, a tampon, the most unusual item in your purse, - some easy ones and some crazy things. It's a funny game to see what people pull out!

  7. I don't know if it's too late to do this, but I went to a fun bachelorette party once where each girl was supposed to bring two bottles of her favorite wine (under $10 and the same kind). We did a wine tasting during the lingerie shower (and all had a leeeetle bit too much!) and voted on our favorites, then the girl(s) who brought the winning bottle got to take home the other bottle of each kind! (Jackpot!) You could give each girl 2-3 votes. It ended up being kind of disorganized, but the idea was great and it would have worked a lot better had it been split into reds and whites. You could also split it into first place gets their choice of 9 bottles, second gets 6, 3rd gets 3, etc. The hostess went to Trader Joes and got a bunch of different kinds of cheeses, meats, dips, crackers, etc. and we all felt full and ready for a fun night on the town!

  8. I have made jello shots alot and always the same way.. I make them according to the recipe (boil water, etc) except when adding in the cool water, i use vodka instead. i always have people tell me they are the best jello shots ever, but i didnt even know there was another way to make them? also, pro tip: use the jolly rancher jello instead, they are way better and not as in your face with the vodka.. and vodka gummy bears (gummy bears soaked in vodka over night) are always a hit too!
