Friday Faves for Madden's Big Boy Room

It's finally Friday!!  Fridays are by far my favorite day of the week.  I love everything about them.  The start of the weekend, how much happier everyone seems to be on this day, and the excuse to drink a couple extra glasses of wine to celebrate the fact that the week is done!

But one of my absolute favorite things about Friday is this linkup...I just can't help but get excited over my Five on Friday.  I literally think all week long about what I will put in the post.  What will make my top 5 favorite things list.  And here's what I came up with:

In lieu of Madden's Nursery demolition that is happening this weekend, I decided to dedicate my 5 faves to a preview into his new "big boy" room!  As sad as I am for the last bit of baby to leave our house, I am more excited about what is to come for this new room!

{One.}
I knew the color scheme that I wanted to stick with for this room was going to be grey, navy and orange, so when I found this Robot quilt at Target two weeks ago, I scooped it up immediately.  I love the quality of it, as you would never guess that it was Circo brand...Target has really stepped up their game in the kid's bedding department!!

{Two.}
I don't know if I'm more excited about the quilt, or these amazing sheets that I paired with the set...they are just so fun!  Another Target score!!

{Three.}
A collage of items that will be hanging on his walls...I wanted to give the room a vintage feel, without being too grown up, so I added a few more vibrant pieces to the mix.  I can't wait to see them all hung up!

{Four.}
This Land of Nod orange ceiling lamp will be hanging in the center of the room to add a pop of color to the darker themed room.

{Five.}
Sorry for the low quality of this picture, but this shower curtain from Houzz.com will be one of the two window curtains I purchased as window coverings...I love using other household items as curtains.  They come in such great patterns and colors and are a cinch to hang!

Now I know this isn't everything that will be going into his new room, but I had to leave a bit of surprise for the final unveiling when it's all said and done!  This is just a sneak peek because I am beyond excited about getting this project done this weekend!!

I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!

Until next time...

  3. Absolutely adorable!! I love cute little robots. My boy won't be in a big boy bed for some time still (hopefully!), but I may have to grab that bedding to hold onto for the future!

  4. The light fixture and curtain are my favorites! The light fixture will add SO much character to the room. The curtains-- brilliant! Aren't shower curtains such a better deal?! And way cuter! Can't wait to see it when it is all put together! =)

  5. Sometimes I really get the itch to try again so I can officially be a "boy mom..." Ladies such as yourself painfully remind me that I am not... then I smack myself hard and look at myself when I was pregnant with P and rockin' 265 pounds! BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHA So cute!!!!

  7. Super cute. I wish I could use a shower curtain or table cloth as a curtain but our windows or obnoxiously large and it would never work.

  8. I love the light fixture, and I have never thought about using shower curtains for the window coverings. Genius! I agree 100% about Target bedding; we have the sports theme from there for Bubby's room! --Becky Have a great weekend! GBR!
